How to Use OakShare: Frequently Asked Questions—Passwords
What is the difference between a group password and a ticket password?
A group password is a password that is used by each contact in a group; for each file that you share with that group, the contacts in that group will need to log in using the group password. Having a group password creates a secure environment for sharing files, and only requires that one password be used by each contact to access each file being shared. A ticket password is assigned only for that ticket.
Can I add a password for an individual contact?
No, you can only set up a password for a group.
What is a strong password, and why do I need to create one?
A strong password is a password that you create that requires that you use a variety of different alphanumeric characters. The purpose of creating a strong password is to make it difficult for crackers to guess your password. For more information, see the Oakland University University Technology Services's (OU UTS's) Password Guidelines web page.
If I create a password for a ticket, how do I send that password to others?
You should send the password only by telephone or in person. Do not e-mail the password.
