Book Store Books can be purchased from various online booksellers including the OU bookstore. Campus Police Macomb Community College Campus Police are duly sworn officers with full police powers who are on duty 24 hours a day. Campus Police should be contacted in the event of any crime, vehicle accident, injury or suspicious behavior occurring at any of Macomb's campuses including the University Center. Additional services provided by Macomb's Campus Police include handicapped assistance, lost and found, severe weather information, basic first aid and emergency procedures. Campus Police comply with the "Student's Right to Know" and will provide college-wide crime statistics on request. Campus Police can also supply information on the "Stalking Law," the College's Sexual Assault Policy and hazardous materials management. Campus Police are located in I Building, Center Campus, or call (586) 286-2123. Counseling and Advising Oakland University requires that students confer with a counselor while planning their curriculum to ensure that transfer credits are accounted for and degree requirements are met. Current Macomb Community College students planning to transfer to Oakland University and future graduate students should call (586) 263-6242 for an appointment. Handicapped Assistance College buildings are equipped with special ramps, elevators and handrails to provide easier access by handicapped students. Elevator keys and handicapped parking permits are available through Public Safety-I-107, Center Campus. Additional assistance, available through Macomb's Special Services Department, includes readers, notetakers, sign language interpreters, typists and communication assistants. Job Placement Oakland University offers comprehensive placement services free to their students and graduates. These services often include regularly updated job listings, resume writing and job interviewing workshops, on-campus interviews, and assistance in finding cooperative education and internship opportunities. Oakland University students attending the University Center may also use the Macomb Job Referral Service (MJRS), offered by Macomb's Employment and Transfer Assistance Services in collaboration with the Macomb Intermediate School District, Macomb/St. Clair Private Industry Council, Michigan Employment Securities Commission and Michigan Rehabilitation Services. On average, the MJRS posts more than 15,000 job openings each year. At Center Campus, the MJRS is located in G-157, or call (586) 286-2239. Library Oakland University students attending the University Center are encouraged to use the recently expanded Center Campus Library. Just a short walk from the University Center, the two-story library has complete reference and periodical sections and access to a variety of computerized literary searches. In addition to the Center Campus Library, library resources are also provided by each partner institution to their enrolled students. If a student needs a book from one of the partner institution's libraries, it can usually be transported to Macomb's Center Campus Library in a matter of days.
