    Application Time Line

    The deadline for applications is October 15. All application material must be submitted by this date. A complete application includes the PTCAS application and 2 references which are submitted to PTCAS directly. In addition, the Supplemental Program Form and official GRE scores are required and should be submitted directly to Oakland University Graduate Admissions. Applications submitted after October 15 will be reviewed at the discretion of the Admission Committee.

    General Information

    1. Application to the Program
      Applications are available July 15 through the PTCAS website for students desiring entry into the Program the following September. All components of the applications are due October 15th. The DPT Program application can be found through PTCAS. The Supplemental Program Form can be found on the Graduate Admissions page or through the PTCAS OU Program Page. The application and references are submitted through the PTCAS. The Supplemental Program Form and official GRE scores are submitted to Oakland University Graduate Admissions.     2. Grade point average (GPA) and Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
      An overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is requires. Applicants must have received a minimum grade of 2.0 in all prerequisites. Students will be considered for admission if they will be completing their Baccalaureate degree and all prerequisite courses prior to the start of the program. All applicants must take the GRE. The accumulated average GPA of students admitted over the past three years is 3.60 and the average GRE scores are Verbal 453, Quantitative 659, and Written 4.25.

    3. Financial Aid
      There are numerous stipend programs and some scholarships available for students enrolled in the Program. Specific information is given to students at the time of orientation to the Program.

    4. Tuition and Books
      Estimated cost of tuition, fees, and textbooks for in-state students entering the DPT in 2009 is $74,000 for the three and one half year program. The estimated cost for out-of-state students is $123,518.

    5. Clinical Education
      During the course of the Program, student must complete four full-time clinical experiences. A general breakdown of these costs is listed below:
      Insurance (Health) $520.00/semester
      Uniforms - Nametag $50.00/yr
      Physical Examination $65.00/yr
      Yearly TB test $20.00 1 year
      Malpractice Insurance (3/yrs) $30.00/yr
      Hepatitis B Immunization $120.00 for all 3 shots
      * Car and Insurance (Student Dependent)
      ** Gas to clinicals @ $6.00/day
      36 weeks x 5 days

      *Students need to provide their own estimate of this expense as prices vary.
      **If the student is placed at a site that requires long-distance travel and housing, extra costs must be budgeted.
