Preprofessional Studies Any of the five specializations within the MLS program could be used as undergraduate academic preparation for pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-osteopathic or pre-physician assistant studies. Depending on the selected specialization, the student may need additional elective courses to meet all professional school requirements. Students should carefully develop their academic plan of work in conjunction with the School of Health Science advisor. In general, the Clinical Laboratory Science specialization offers the best pre-professional academic plan for students not desiring a specific professional certification. It correlates closely with most professional school requirements and additionally provides the most diversified spectrum of medical-school subjects.
