Welcome to the Medical Laboratory Sciences Program
Medical laboratory sciences (MLS) is a very diversified field, with specializations evolving quickly in response to new technologies. Oakland University's MLS program prepares students for professional opportunities in settings such as hospitals, commercial clinical labs, research labs, public health facilities or biomedical corporations. With specializations in several areas, students may select the program that best fits their interests.
The MLS program also provides excellent preparation for admission into professional schools (with necessary supplemental courses) such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine and physician assistant.
Students may be admitted to the MLS program directly from high school or by
transferring from other colleges and universities. For more information
