Personal Information
Having worked in both urban and suburban school districts over a span of 30 years in roles ranging from classroom teacher to secondary administrator, Mildred’s background in leadership and school quality issues are assets to her position as PSA Director. Mildred obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, as well as her Master’s degree in Secondary Reading, from Wayne State University. Her other advanced degrees include a Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School and an Educational Specialist degree from Oakland University. Mildred is currently a doctoral student in Educational Leadership at OU. In addition to overseeing the OUPSA office and staff, Mildred’s primary focus is on monitoring the charter schools’ board of directors, implementing school quality initiatives and representing Oakland University within the local, state, and federal educational communities. She is also involved in the selection and re-authorization processes for Oakland University’s charter schools.
