Marvella has over 20 years experience in the corporate world in management, banking, and finance, including the position of Chief Financial Officer of a 501C3. She has a B.A. in Organizational Management with a minor in Finance from Spring Arbor University and will receive her CFO certification in the fall of 2011. Marvella’s career in higher education at Oakland University includes the School of Education and Human Services where she served the Dean as Business Manager/Financial Analyst. Her duties encompassed multiple fund management which included monitoring, budgeting, expense reconciliation, and forecasting. She also provided staff training and development. In her current position as Business Manager/Compliance Officer in the Office of Public School Academies, her responsibilities include financial oversight of the Academies to ensure they maintain compliance per their charter agreement with the University. Marvella also monitors school compliance with the requirements of the Michigan Department of Education and federal and local governmental agencies. Marvella also provides professional development for PSA board members and administrators.
