6:00-8:00pm Welcome Reception at the Ziibiwing Cultural Center (because the center can only accommodate 100 people at a time, we will be asking people to sign up for a specific time, e.g., 6 pm pr 7 pm; more information to follow)
Monday
8:00am-6:00pm Registration
8:00-9:00am Breakfast “on your own” at the Firefly Restaurant (pick up vouchers at the conference registration desk)
9:00-9:30am Welcome, including CMU Interim Provost Dr. Gary Shapiro
9:30-10:30am Featured speaker—Dr. Bryan Cook from ACE on national trends in enrollment and graduation of underrepresented students
10:30-10:45am Break
10:45am-noon Breakout Sessions I (including a panel discussion on the state of higher education in Michigan; panelists to include Dr. Cook)
Noon-2:00pm Luncheon and Keynote speaker Dr. Carlos Cortes (Emeritus, U of New Mexico) on multicultural curriculum nationally over the last 20 years
2:00-3:30 Breakout Sessions II (including breakout sessions/book signing with Dr. Cortes)
3:30-3:15 Break
3:45-5:15 Breakout Sessions III (including a student panel discussing issues pertinent to under-represented students)
DINNER ON YOUR OWN
7:00 pm Presentation on campus: “A Conversation with Alana” by Dr. Carlos Cortes
