Welcome to OUTV

OUTV is a cable television station operated by Oakland University staff and students. Our programming is intended to entertain, inform and promote Oakland University to the viewing public. We can be found on Comcast Cablevision (analog channel 11, digital channel 74 & 908) in the following communities in Michigan:

Mission Statement

To produce broadcast quality programming that reflects the ideals and standards of Oakland University while utilizing, teaching and nurturing student crew so they may develop the skills necessary to successfully enter the video production industry.

The Visit of Dr. A.P.J. Kalam

OUTV Crew

Faculty, staff, and students at Oakland University had a once in a lifetime opportunity when India’s former president, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam arrived on campus, Wednesday, September 17th, 2009. Employees of OUTV spent the day documenting his visit to OU where Dr. Kalam toured the campus, Meadow Brook mansion and several labs in the School of Engineering. Dr. Kalam also took the time to talk with faculty and students about their current research projects. .

OUTV Crew OUTV was also on hand to capture and stream Dr. Kalam’s evening address to a fully packed O’Rena where he was awarded an honorary degree from Oakland University..
