The Board of Visitors is an advisory body to the Oakland University School of Nursing. The specific purposes of the Board of Visitors are to provide counsel to the School of Nursing regarding its objectives, strategies, goals, curriculum and concerns; to promote the school in the community by creating awareness of its existence, supporting recruiting efforts and understanding of the services it renders; and to provide assistance in obtaining financial support from outside sources. Marie (Bulaclac) Adam, RN is senior occupational health services specialist of DaimlerChrysler and 1998 recipient of the Nightingale Award for Outstanding Oakland University Alumni. Maggie Allesee is active in numerous community organizations. She has served as past president of the board, chair of the Nightingale Awards, was named the 2000 Philanthropist of the Year and received a 2001 Oakland University honorary alumna award. She is a private counselor in Bloomfield Hills. Carl Camden, PhD is president and chief operations officer of Kelly Services. Lisa DeMoss is senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Nancy Hakala is director and manager of Wright & Filippis, Livonia. Kathleen Hallberg is relationship manager and vice president of Standard Federal Bank Paula J. Hebert, RN is director of emergency services at Providence Park, the 1998 recipient of the Nightingale Award in Home Care, and the 2004-05 chair of the Nightingale Committee. Tommye Hinton is the Associate Vice President of Quality & Patient Safety at Health Alliance Plan. Petra Hurt is the Affiliate Clinical Coordinator and Assistant Director at the University of Detroit-Mercy, College of Health Professions. Frank W. Jackson III is assistant general counsel at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan. Theresa Jones, RN is president and chief executive officer of Northwestern Dodge, Inc. Michael Kulwicki is manager private banking, for McDonald Financial Group. Karen M. Lucas, RN is an independent consultant and nurse entrepreneur who opened her own business, KML Consulting, LLC, and the 2004-05 vice chair of the Nightingale Committee. David Martin is president and chief executive officer of Health Care News Alliance, LLC. Barbara Medvec, RN is chief nursing officer of Oakwood Healthcare System and the 2004-05 vice chair of the Board of Visitors. Patricia Natale, RN is vice president patient care services of Detroit Medical Center's Detroit Receiving Hospital. Margo Riza is Oakland County regional operations manager for Special Tree Rehabilitation System. Kathleen Ryan, RN is vice president of operations, acute services of Providence Hospital and Medical Center and the 2001 winner of the Nightingale Award for Nursing Administration. Gary Snyder is the Managing Director of the Nonprofit Management Group. Karen M. Standfest is vice president of patient care and CNO for St. Joseph Mercy of Macomb. Nancy Susick, RN is assistant hospital director of Beaumont Hospital, Troy. Peter Swiecicki is the Chief Executive Officer for BBDO Detroit. Linda Thompson, DrPH, RN, FAAN, is the dean of the School of Nursing, Oakland University. Kathleen VanWagoner is chief nurse executive at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Christine Zambricki, CRNA, FAAN is administrative director and chief nursing officer of anesthesia at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, and the 2004-05 secretary and Nightingale Selection Committee chair for the Board of Visitors.
