Freshman Admission Criteria High school seniors must first apply and be accepted by Oakland University. To be eligible for admission to The Honors College, your GPA should be at least 3.5 and you should have a minimum composite score of 25 on the ACT. Students qualifying for admission will receive a letter from The Honors College indicating eligibility. To be accepted in The Honors College, students must either write a short essay or request an interview with the director. If your GPA and/or ACT is slightly lower than the above requirements, you may choose to apply for admission to The Honors College by filling out an application. Oakland accepts students into The Honors College throughout the year. Freshman Apply Freshman may apply to Oakland’s Honors College by completing an application. Forms are available online , or will be mailed to students upon request, or can be obtained from The Honors College office at 112 East Vandenberg Hall. Please mail your completed application to The Honors College, 112 E. Vandenberg Hall, Rochester, Michigan, 48309-4401.
