Managing Assistantships
The Office of Graduate Study has created this webpage for the benefit of administrators and faculty involved with campus Graduate Assistantships at Oakland University. Our goal is to provide you with information about various policies and regulations that will be of use to you. Graduate Assistant Policy Guidelines Graduate Assistantship Posting Request The form to be completed by any department wishing to post an available Graduate Assistant position online. Hire and Process Appointments - GA Letter of Offer - Fall and Winter - This letter must accompany all GA Agreements.
- GA Agreement - This version has been updated as of January 30, 2009 and must be used from this point forward. All other versions of the GA Agreement will be returned to the department.
- Estimated Value of GA Appointment (optional)
- Confidential Payroll Form - must be included with all new GA offers.
- GA Direct Deposit Authorization - submitt directly to the Payroll Office, 121 Vandenberg Hall
- I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification - *NEW FORM EFFECTIVE FEB. 2, 2009.* This form must be completed in the Office of Graduate Study.
- Michigan W-4 - Please turn in directly to the Payroll Office, 121 Vandenberg Hall.
- Oath Card - This form does not need to be notarized.
- GA Payroll without Social Security Card - Each graduate assistant must present their Social Security Card to the Office of Graduate Study. New students that hold a graduate assistantship and can verify they have applied for a Social Security Card may work for 90 days maximum. The student must bring in their original card as soon as it has been received.
