KCP Fellowship Awards Since 1986 the State has made available approximately $100,000 each year to Oakland University to support the King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellowship program. These funds are made available to graduate students on a competitive basis as $20,000 master's fellowships and/or $35,000 doctoral fellowships. See Fellowships for complete details. Fellowship Tuition Awards The tuition and fees of KCP fellows are paid by Graduate Study and Lifelong Learning as long as the recipient 1) remains in good academic standing, 2) enrolls for a minimum of 16 credit hours each calendar year, and 3) enrolls in courses that are applicable to degree requirements. Awarded Fellows must file a request for tuition reduction each term they are enrolled. Note: Stipends for fellows are paid during the academic year, September and January. Communications conducted via your official OU e-mail address, include grades, tuition and fee bills, financial aid, schedule of classes and graduation information. This information is important to maintaining a student’s relationship with the university. The university will hold students accountable for the information sent via e-mail. Therefore, students should check their Oakland e-mail account regularly – at least twice each week.
