Concentration Requirements

A minimum of 28 credits is required, including:

  2. ENG 392 Film Theory and Criticism

  3. Two courses chosen from
    1. CIN 300 History of Film: The Silent Era
    2. CIN 301 History of Film: The Sound Era to 1958
    3. CIN 302 History of Film: The New Wave and Its Impact
    4. CIN 303 History of Film: Into the 21st Century

  4. One course chosen from
    1. AN 307 Culture and Society in Film
    2. CIN 350 Topics in Film
    3. CIN 450 Advanced Topics in Film
    4. COM 303 Communication Theory
    5. COM 371 Forms and Effects of Mass Communication
    6. ENG 309 Adaptation: Fiction, Drama, Film
    7. MUS 334 History of Film Music
    8. SA 268 Video Art I
    9. SA 368 Video Art II
    10. CIN 450 Advanced Topics in Film OR CIN 499 Independent Study may be substituted for one of the courses listed above, with the permission of the concentration coordinator.
