Oracle licenses and fees are estimates, not formal quotes, and need to be
reevaluated once a direction is established.
-WebCT
licenses and fees are based on 2005 pricing and are valid thru 12/31/05, and
are subject to change after that date.
-WebCT
licensing is lease or subscription model.
-WebCT
license fee is based on the 8000-15000 FTE tier-CE has a 10% annual license
increase, except Vista licenses have been fixed for three years and include
overlap CE.
-CE has a

-Systems
administration includes security mitigation, operating system upgrades, and backup costs
allocations.
-Application
support includes Banner interface,
application patches and upgrades,
and course restores.
-In-house
server costs reflect planned cyclical replacement.
-In-house
server costs are based on current Dell pricing or IBM pricing, depending on
size and scalability.
-Includes
half of AVP of ELIS and Application Specialist salary, and full salary of WebCT Administrator.

support it's operation.
-Oracle
licensing is perpetual model.
-Oracle
support is calculated at 19% of the license fee.
-Assume 1
full time Oracle DBA for OU solutions where Oracle is required.
-Assume 3%
annual systems and database administration increases.
-In-house
CE 6 requires 5 servers, other solutions require 4 servers plus storage.
-Assume 3%
annual salary increase and composite fringe 44.8%.
-Hosting
WebCT off-campus is currently about $50,000 less than hosting on campus.
