Respondus

I. Make a Question File.

• Open Microsoft Word or Notepad and create a file of questions following this specific format with a number, period, space and then the question.
• On separate lines below the question, put in a correct answer (by placing an asterisk in front of it) and false answers for a multiple choice or true and false question.

• Save the file as a .txt file. Click on File and then Save as... Pull down the Save as Type menu and choose Plain text. Click Save.

II. Import Question File into Respondus.

• Open Respondus and click on Import Questions.

  Type of File: Choose Text File in "Standard Forms"
  File Name: Browse for your file.
  Choose where: Create a new document.

III. Modify Questions.

• Click on question title.
• Click on Modify in pop-up windows.
• Change whatever you'd like and click Randomize.
• Save changes.

IV. Add another Question.

• Choose a type of question on the left.
• Fill out the form.
• Click add to End of List or Insert.
• Save changes.

V. Basic Settings.

• Choose your settings which are the same as in WebCT.
• Saves automatically

VI. Preview and Publish.

• Preview is optional and Print is optional.
• Publish to WebCT
  • Click Publish Wizard.
  • Choose Publish to single course or to multiple sections.
  • Choose server and fill in the form according to the image below, substituting your WebCT account and password.

  

  • Choose course in the drop down menu.
  • Create a category name.
  • Check Create Quiz, unless you want loose questions that aren't assigned to any quiz.
  • Click Next.

VII. Open WebCT.

• Click on your quiz icon and then the new quiz title to see the imported questions.
