Upload and Link Files to Moodle

1. Select the desired course from Moodle's homepage.

2. Select Turn editing on, at the top right of the screen.

3. Scroll to the desired topic area.

4. Select Add a resource.

5. Select Link to a file or website.

6. Type the Name of the resource. This will appear on the course’s Homepage.

7. Type the Summary of resource, or leave it blank.

8. Scroll down to Location.

9. Select Choose or upload a file…

a. Select Upload a file.

b. Select Browse to search for the desired file.

c. Select desired file.

d. Select Open.

e. Select Upload this file.

f. Select Choose to the right of the desired file.

9. Scroll down to section entitled Window.

10. Select Same window or New window.

a. If Same window is selected, the file or website will open in the same window.

b. If New window is selected, a new window will pop up on top of the currently opened window.

Be mindful that some browsers could have popup blockers causing the new window to not open.

11. Scroll down to Parameters.

12. Select Hide Settings.

13. Scroll down to Visible to participants.

14. Select Show or Hide. This will allow others to see the link to this file or it will hide the link.

15. Select Save changes. A new window will appear to view the the uploaded file.

16. Select Open with then OK.

17. Review the file and verify that the correct file was uploaded.

18. Go back to Moodle.

19. Select the course you were working with in the top left corner to see the file you uploaded and linked.

20. Go to the Activties box on the left of the course homepage.

21. Select Resources to view the summary.
