FALL '08 CLASSROOM COMPUTER CHANGE

All General Purpose Classrooms will switch to a network user account versus the current configuration of signing onto a local (non-network)account beginning Fall '08. This will provide added security on the network, as we will be able to lock down these systems with a domain user security policy. This functionality is built into the standard classroom image file for deployment over the coming weeks. Once deployment has taken place, password resets will be performed at the network level, rather than at the local host level.

Evening Staff
The evening classroom support technician position is currently vacant. Until this position is filled, evening (5:00 pm - 8:00 pm) hours will be serviced by our student staff.

Do You Need Help?

Classroom Keys
Classroom keys (Z4) can be obtained by bringing your faculty ID to 116 Varner Hall. Yes, you do need the ID.

Training Available

Classroom Support and Instructional Technical Services offers classroom technology orientation and hands on demonstrations of the newly equipped Level III enhanced technology classrooms. Use of the video projection system, document camera, and electronic white board is covered.

To schedule an individual orientation please call Classroom Support and Instructional Technical Services (CSITS) at (248) 370-2461 or email csits@oakland.edu.

What Software and A/V Resources Are Available in My Classroom?

To view the detail on how a specific classroom is equipped, click on the Classrooms page, then on Room Specs in the header. The software available in Level III room is detailed on that page. Additionally, under 'View Classroom Resources', if you select your room from the drop down list and click on SUBMIT button you will see what equipment is installed in that room.

Locking Classrooms

Please lock your classroom after each session

Due to the theft of equipment from an unlocked classroom, we have instituted the practice of locking all classrooms.

This should not be an inconvenience to those faculty who have a classroom technology access key from Classroom Support and Instructional Technical Services (CSITS), as this is the same key (Z4) that will also open classroom doors.

Faculty who do not have a Z4 key may obtain one by presenting OU Faculty/Staff identification at the CSITS help desk located in room 116 Varner Hall. Questions regarding the assignment of classroom keys can be directed to CSITS at 2461.

We want to thank everyone for their cooperation in helping to protect our classroom technology investment.
