RATIONALE: 

• To insure the high quality of Oakland University's exterior image.

• To achieve uniformity of Oakland University's exterior skyline.

• To blend the rural character of the land with the academic development, recreational and entertainment structures in a unified theme.

POLICY:

The approval of the University President, or designee shall be obtained on all projects located on the Oakland University campus, which require exterior painting. This applies to repainting of structures on a rotating basis, remodeling, renovation, or new alterations and construction.

PROCEDURES

All requests for exterior painting must be directed to Facilities Management for review and recommendations and then forwarded to the office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The President and Vice President will review for final approval. The request must be accompanied by a color sample or a mock-up of the painted surface.
