The department encourages students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities. Group trips for studio art and art history students are occasionally arranged for winter breaks. Department faculty members accompany the students on these trips, and two credit course work is an available option.

2008
Students traveled to Berlin, Prague and Vienna on the departmental winter break trip.
Spring Program in China (May 9 – June 18, 2008): Students visited ancient and modern sites in Beijing, Xian and Tianjin in North China during the first 5 weeks; then for the 6th week tour, they traveled to Yunnan, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou in the South.
2007
Students visited Paris and Amsterdam on the departmental winter break trip.
Students visited Athens, Delphi, Mycenae and Epidaurus in Greece on the departmental trip between winter and spring terms.
2006
Students visited Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Toledo in Spain on the departmental winter break trip
2005
Students visited Rome, Florence, Assisi and Pompeii in Italy on the departmental winter break trip.
