Counseling General Information

The Oakland University Counseling Center, located in the Graham Health Center has been serving the students and staff of the university for over 30 years. We provide a broad range of mental health services which include:

• Personal Counseling
• Psychological and Psychoeducational Testing
• Career Testing and Counseling
• Substance Abuse Evaluation, Treatment, and Prevention
• Consultation and Outreach.

In 1973 the Counseling Center opened its doors to the community at large and made all its services available to the general public.

Personal Counseling

Counselors help individuals with general confusion and with problems related to daily living. In addition, the Counseling Center offers counseling for issues such as:

• Depression
• Anxiety (panic attacks, test anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders)
• Eating Disorders
• Underachievement
• Relationship difficulties
• Family Conflict
• Grief and Loss
• Self Esteem
• Sexuality
• Substance Abuse
• Crisis Intervention
• Counselors are available to discuss personal concerns an individual, couple or family may be facing and will work with them to develop new ways of resolving or mastering the problem.

We're open Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 and evenings by appointment.
